The Art behind the Drop.
Wood carving is an ancestral tradition from the Catacaos region of Peru, dating back centuries and today serving as the primary livelihood for over 4,000 artisan families. Our first drop focuses on exporting this tradition: a set of cutlery crafted entirely by hand, guided by the same principles of craftsmanship, time, and dedication.
The hands behind the Art.
Mr. Ángel Barrientos is the leader of our artisan team. He did not have access to formal academic education, but despite the challenges, and drawing on the knowledge passed down from his father, he was able to support his family, put his children through professional careers, and give them the opportunities he never had. Today, at 76 years old, he brings over 60 years of experience in his craft.
Due to his age, he is no longer able to produce at the pace he once did, but his long career, reputation, and deep understanding of the artisan sector make him an essential figure. For this reason, we gave him a new role: Ángel is now our right-hand man, as well as a leader and mentor within the project.
